Gaga and Grande wrote the track alongside Nija Charles, Rami Yacoub, Tchami, Boys Noize and the song's producers, BloodPop and Burns. "Rain on Me" is a dance-pop, disco, house and electropop song that contains elements from French house, techno and electronic music. An uplifting song, it sees Gaga and Grande addressing past traumas and finding beauty in the pain. The music video for the song was directed by filmmaker Robert Rodriguez.
